General Leo themes have to do with creativity, self-expression, The Performer, The Lion, The King, the heart, romance, play, and children to name a few.
Here are the current and approaching collective energy themes for this Moon cycle:
With three Astrological Square aspects and a Yod, this Leo Moon cycle can certainly feel like a “Lion’s Gate” as challenges can be things that keep us in one place, or we go through the gate by use of will power and action.
The Moon starts its new cycle from the Sun in the Sun's home spot of Leo. The Lion and Lioness in the den showing love to one another. With generosity, the afternoon kill from the hunt feeds the entire pride. An ending creates nourishing beginnings. Their animal instinct is authentic and there's nothing else a Lion can be but only that of a Lion.
Our uniqueness, what we create in this world, how we show up, plays a part that is needed in the world, a purpose whether we know it or not. People's purpose isn't just a long term, one thing deal. It can be like that of a career, single pointed, but our purpose can play a part in many people's lives, in little ways, throughout our lifetime, in ways in which we will never know. While the ego sets us apart as an individual and the lead role like that in a play, everyone one else is also participating from their own perceived ego center point as well.
What breaks you through? What has there to be to move forward? When confronted with a challenge, whether it be mental, physical or something or someone outside of you, what shall you call on to act and cross through? It is... Courage. Choosing courage. For some, courageousness may be natural, hence Leo energy, for others, not so much and it’s something to learn, something we see by example. Challenge and fear can keep us stationary, hold us in repetitive cycles or they are teachers of action, teachers of breakthroughs. Ever hear people say to “steer into your fears?,” same with challenges. Taking on new experiences build confidence. Practicing scenarios, paying attention to details, stepping up to the plate, and gaining experience all help your inner Lion in this Moon phase and beyond.
Lead yourself. Be an example. Communicate and speak what you mean as your self-expression. Know who you are and learn to know yourself well through inner contemplation. It doesn't matter what people say or what other people are doing. There is only one expression that is you, no one else does you. Honor that, and honor that in others. That is symbolic of the Sun for which Leo is associated, this unique expression of the Universe that is you. Isn’t it interesting how as kids we copy and emulate other people (some of us still do as adults), usually famous people, and want to be like them? Perhaps they are subconscious guides, but as we grow older we tend to come into our own, our Ego identity can stand on its own, hopefully. Leo is kind of like the Ego’s Full Moon moment (“full” of themselves for some as Ego inflation can be over the top and even narcissistic when this energy is extreme or part of Leo’s shadow expression). The star of the show at night that pulls your attention. It’s ALL of the Moon that we see, it doesn’t hold back what it’s got. Leo essentially, as healthy Ego expression, is knowing who you are, confidently, shining brightly for all to see. “Here I am.” You see, Leo is not only the Sun, but the full Moon AND the “Star.”
King or Queen resides within, inner, accessible. Wise decisions, and then actions from one, can benefit and inspire many. This is about taking responsible action and the effect it has on our society. An act, and an action, when done authentically as a natural expression, is not done for a result of praise or applause, validation, or attention, but for doing either what's right, to benefit, or lift up, or lead another or others, regardless of the outcome or feedback from others, although constructive criticism from worthy people can help you adjust and fine tune things as support.
How challenging it can be for many to stay on target, unwavering from a goal, a personal passion or something you want to create. There’s criticism, social media cheer or jeer, one's own inner critic blockages.Setbacks and challenges require consistent choice of action to pivot. Each pivot a new possibility, a new hope, or else you are stationary, not growing, not evolving. It takes mental agility to be creative with the changes in life and the challenges that present themselves.
Some difficult decisions can be life changing and it takes courage to follow through. The choices are what's in one's own control, the results are not. Sometimes, two steps back are necessary for one step forward. Sometimes life throws us something where there is no choice, only one path can be taken, but still…there is choice…in how we respond to what presents itself.
Think about playing as a child.
How unbounded an expression when one is playing by oneself, self entertained. Bringing in another child, now there comes second guessing, in comes pleasing and wanting to be liked, in comes competition, in comes “who's better.” One may lead or boss the other, one follows. Who’s older? Mine/yours.
With an older individual or parent present, now the child may start "acting" from a place of wanting or needing attention, approval and love, to be liked, accepted, that feels good. Attention can be positively displayed or negatively. A child will play differently when supervised. In comes self-consciousness, admiration from another, criticism, rebellion or shame perhaps. The need to be liked and loved can be a very early survival tactic that can grow into adulthood.
Loving oneself, pleasing oneself, accepting oneself, giving yourself permission to be as one is, is something most of us have to learn and exercise as part of a new belief system and how we live life that can build inner confidence and courage just to be ourselves, with our friends, our partners, our relationships, within our communities.
It's this New Moon that can present challenges to these themes but are supporting you to act and to act from your Higher "Good King” "Good Queen" inner mentality which shows outwardly through your actions. Being an example for others.
Your uniqueness and your personal self expression plays a part in the greater Cosmology interplay in everything that is. Understanding this from the inside, starting with you, and how you are is an inner deal, it starts there and benefits outwardly.
With an emphasis also on Venus with this New Moon, we can apply these same themes and self oriented themes of how we are, how we show up and act, to how we communicate within our intimate relationships. Are you familiar with the Love Languages? Have you ever thought about what your needs are in a relationship and communicated that with a partner? Have you listened and acted upon the needs of your partner, giving them that Leo attention?
For people with more Leo energy, it may be more natural to show up authentically within relationships, what you see is what you get. But for most people, it may difficult to show up in that way right off the bat and be true to who we are without wanting to put on an act of approval for another or to disappoint for fear of being rejected, run from, judged or unloved. Leo energy here wants to receive attention, is romantic, shows grand love gestures, is loyal, generous and fun. This New Moon energy supports these Leo aspects and supports raising the bar in your relationships by bringing forth more of your true natural essence with confidence forward. There are many ways to love another. Love and relationships come in many different ways. With Venus it also engages these themes in how we connect with others in general, as well as in regards to the things we value in life and how we make money and enjoy the things we like. With Leo, there’s a lot of passion in how these manifest.
Doing the things you're passionate about can be transformative for you. Pull through the challenges.
Have a good Journey, roar into it!
