The Timing of the New Pope

Cosmic Conclave & Papal Planets

New Pope Astrology Leo XIV

As of today a new Pope has been chosen. Pope Leo XIV. Let’s take a quick look at the meaning of this moment in time of the passing of a Pope and the beginning era of a new one through the cosmic eye of Astrology. These moments of a new Pope don’t happen often so it's worth a look. Although the stars and planets have their cycles around our Earth, they do have a unique position in the sky at every moment in time and Astrology brings meaning to our lives. This is not an analysis of this Pope's birth chart, but on some themes of meaning, in regard to where the planets are at this time.

Neptune/Pisces - We all know The Pope

Everyone knows that there’s a Pope regardless of your religion, you’ve heard of him or the term. The Pope is seen globally as the representation of Christianity and the Catholic Church. He’s the “Top Father” you could say,  a religious leader, an authority, holding the highest position of this religion.

“The Pope” is associated with Neptune and the sign Pisces, as they represent the Universal, global consciousness of the masses, fame, known to all. It represents spirituality, faith and the connection to God. The Pope is also known as the unifier of the people of God, “unity, oneness is also a Pisces theme. “Archetype” itself is a Neptune/Piscean theme as it represents aspects of our psyche that are within all of us and in the collective conscious and unconscious. “The Hierophant” in the Tarot is this Archetype. Everyone knows “The Pope” whether one is this religion or not. “The Pope” is a global religious idyllic symbol - All Pisces themes.

Although Neptune represents the ego-less, the formless, while it is in Aries the Pope chooses a new name, an “identity” (Aries) as Pope Leo XIV. Interesting still that in this Astrology chart of the time and location of this Pope's election, the Ascendant is in Leo, how we see him, an energy of his identity, Leo.

The Pope is the symbol of Christ on Earth. Even the Fish (Pisces) is a global symbol of Christianity, Catholicism and Jesus. Taking this deeper, The Pope can represent for many the outward projection of our psyche of our inner spiritual authority.

Neptune is at the 1st degree of Aries, the very first degree of the Zodiac, at a starting point, the beginning of a new Journey. The previous Pope died with Neptune at the “0” degree point. That zero of the abyss, the threshold of death/birth of Pisces/Aries, ending/beginning. Now an initiation into the beginning of a new cycle, a birth with a new Pope.

Mercury - Smoke Signals

Smoke has long been symbolic of Spirit. Spirit is represented by the element of Air. In communicating the message that a new Pope has been chosen, we visually see smoke as a symbol, as a message in the sky. Many people look “up” or to the sky, when praying, talking, or recognizing Spirit, Jesus, God etc. The planet Mercury (The Messenger) is in Aries (Fire/smoke) to communicate the new (Aries) message. The process for choosing the new Pope was quick (Mercury in Aries), two days, 4 rounds concluded the conclave process.

Jupiter

This planet is also playing a part in the sky conversation as it is representing “A Choice” a significant time to choose and act. This position in particular has to do with “Courage” (Leo Lion) and taking a risk to move forward. This choice was a grand communication of that smoke signal and the message of information (Gemini/Mercury), was expansive in its reach to the world. Joy and celebration for many around the world for this global faith of the news.

Uranus

Uranus is in relation with Saturn and Neptune at this time. Not only was the process quick but it was a surprise to many as the new Pope, Cardinal Rober Prevost, is an American. A non-traditional choice. The very first (Aries) time an American born person has been chosen as Pope.

Uranus is also connected with The United States as it represents Independence and Freedom. The planet was discovered close to the birth of the United States independence. How every Pope is chosen is a democratic process among the Cardinals in this faith.

Uranus is also connected to the Greek titan Prometheus who benefited all of humanity by returning fire to the people of Earth for use of heat and technology, he was a rebel. That fire can be the warmth for all. Maybe this Pope will do things very differently. Uranus represents the new and the unknown as well as the collective.

Saturn

In relation to the Saturn, Saturn is a planet that represents The Father. It is Structure. It is Tradition. It is the rule maker. It is an Authority. At this time Neptune and Saturn are “together” symbolized as a “Spiritual Father” or a “Religious Authority” and the placement of these planets are at the end/beginning of the Zodiac. Old/New, Ending/Beginning, death/Birth.

Saturn also connects with the Pope as a lifelong position, a long, long time.. of service (Neptune/Pisces).

Mars

At this time Mars is in Leo. Mars is “Male”, Masculine energy, in the sign of leadership and Heart. It is doing, being, acting, starting and initiating in this energy realm at its best and is getting attention for it, is in the spotlight. Leo’s highest energy expression is also leading, or ruling, with the heart for the good of all. It’s recognizing everyone involved and leading with everyone in mind. The Good King. We associate The Lion with the King archetype. King of the Jungle, the top of the pyramid. The Lion has been very symbolic of Jesus, "King Of The Jews." This Pope ornamentally chose to wear the color gold on his day of being voted in , a “Kingly,“ value, spiritual purity, Divine holiness. “Tooo…Tooo” calls the trumpet for Pope Leo XIV.

Venus

Venus is also with Neptune in the sky in Aries representing the themes of the relationship to Spirit/God. It is Human Love with Spiritual Love. It is a compassionate heart. It is a new relationship with Spirit/God. A new inner relationship with ourselves, for many, a new relationship with a new Pope, the outer representation of this “fatherly” love or a new relationship with a religion.

On a side note

Interestingly enough with energy cycles of the planets, Saturn was also crossing from Pisces into Aries in 1878, around the time of a Pope’s death (Pope Pius IX) and a new Pope was chosen.

Have a good Journey,
